This guide explains the difference between programs and service categories in Ajandam. It helps you add your programs in the right place and, if you added a category by mistake, fix it in a few minutes.
A program is the type of event (e.g. Wedding with dinner, Henna night) or the name of a hall, section or room; it sets the reservation's color on the calendar. A category is only a heading that groups your services and packages. The two aren't linked, and Ajandam has no such thing as a “program category”.
In this guide
Programs and categories are independent of each other, so there's no required order. Still, this order makes things easier:
If names such as “Wedding”, “Engagement” or “Henna night” were added with the “Categories” button at the top right of the services page, they are service categories, not programs. In that case you'll see the following:
The “Create your programs” step of the setup wizard creates programs suited to your sector for wedding halls, event venues, organizers and photo/video businesses. In other sectors the list starts empty and you add the programs you need yourself.
Programs don't have a price. Enter the price on a package or service on your services page; in the reservation, select both the program and the priced package.
The program is removed from the list; reservations saved with it show an empty program and lose their program color on the calendar. If only the name is wrong, tap the program and fix it with “Edit program” instead of deleting it.
Open “Reservation color settings” in Settings and choose “By program color” under “Calendar color mode”. Reservations without a program are shown in their status color.
The staff member needs the “Can manage programs” permission. The business owner can turn it on by editing the staff member on the “Staff / team” page.
Open Definitions > Programs in the panel; you can add or fix your programs in a few minutes.
